At msg for banking, he advises banks in the area of payments, most recently accompanying the implementation of Instant Payments and Verification of Payee. Prior to this, he was responsible for the introduction of a new, modern payment transaction platform at a bank.
Paul KrügelPaul Krügel
works at msg for banking in the ITC Payments division, where he supports companies with his expertise in payment transactions. Prior to this, he gained extensive experience in treasury consulting and completed a dual Bachelor's degree in International Business Management.

Introduction: Payments Radar

The year 2025 was a turning point for European payments. With the implementation of the Instant Payment Regulation and the introduction of Verification of Payee (VoP), a new foundation was laid for fast and secure payments.

From now on, real time is the standard and security is an integral part of it. At the same time, DORA, the first Europe-wide uniform set of rules for digital resilience, came into force – a challenge for banks and service providers, who had to take their systems and processes to a new level.
